Job Description

Sr. Server Windows Engineer, SCCM SCOM


  • Configure, Manage and Maintain System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environment.
  • Work closely with Desktop Operations team in managing shared Server/Desktop SCCM environment.
  • Deploy, maintain and upgrade VMWare ESXi 6.x and Microsoft Hyper-V 2012/2016 hypervisors.
  • Must understand vCenter and Virtual Machine Manager and be able to perform all essential functions within both applications.
  • Configure, Manage and Maintain System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) environment.
  • Work closely with all IT groups to ensure optimal server and application monitoring, proper overrides and monitoring rules, and creating custom dashboards.
  • Maintain Windows & Linux server environment including deploying new Servers, decommissioning Servers, troubleshooting issues with existing Servers and assisting other IT groups with specific server related tasks such as installing new roles and implementing security team mandated changes and guidelines.
  • Respond to Level 1 through 3 support tickets and provide timely support to other IT groups.
  • Understand how to package and deploy software using SCCM and how to perform monthly security and software updates deployments.
  • Work with new hardware and software technologies and be able to understand and learn said technologies to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as needed or delegated by manager.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience in IT with 3+ years experience supporting large scale Windows, Linux, VMWare and Hyper-V environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of SCCM and SCOM (Support IT requests, maintain and upgrade the environments, etc.).
  • PowerShell coding techniques and an ability to automate processes.
  • Knowledge of networking, fail over systems and load balancing.
  • Configure Microsoft, Linux, VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of DNS, VMWare, vMotion, Hyper-V, etc.
  • Install, configure and implement hardware (rack, stack, cabling).
  • Expansive knowledge of SCCM and SCOM are required.
