Network Security Ops Engineer

Salary: $120-150k flex; 25% bonus

Location: 1st choice: Newark Delaware; 2nd: New Jersey City; 3rd Hagerstown, MD; 4th: Marietta, GA

Position Description Overview

This position will have responsibilities across the development spectrum focusd on creating and delivering a global network automation strategy and leading the development and delivery of these solutions into the core, campus, data center, backbone, wireless and edge connect technology disciplines

Job Responsibilities

  • Contrubute to the creation of a global network automation strategy and five year roadmap.
  • Develop sustainable applications, processes and scripts to ensure successful achievement of global network automation strategy.
  • Develop documentation, test plans, operations training and support run books for new automation solutions.

Job Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of core data networking technologies including switching, routing protocols, WAN, wireless and data center architecture.
  • Proven development experience in C/C++ or other high level programming language.
  • Development experience with two or more mid level languages including Python, Java, PHP, etc.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration including Ansible, Puppet, Saltstack, etc.
  • Proved track record of delivering projects through the entire life cycle.
  • Development of long-term strategic plans and road-maps showing proficiency across the entire process.

SElli - FW/Proxy/End User/Automation

Job Description

The FW/Proxy/End User/Automation Security Engineer III is responsible for the design and engineering of global solutions to include FW, Proxy, End User, and Automation as a primary focus.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from start to finish with minimal supervision and act as virtual team lead when required
  • Act as a technical advisor and Level 3 support to Infrastructure support team
  • Develop and execute RFPs from multiple vendors to include detailed solution analysis and lab testing
  • Assist in the transition and deployment of new FW/Proxy/End User/Automation infrastructure solutions to operational groups
  • Maintain vendor relationships and help drive their roadmaps to support First Data's requirements and future
  • Write and implement scripts/programs to configure multiple network devices/platforms re needs
  • Assist in efforts to automate internal processes/tools for departmental engineering tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with FW/Proxy/End User/Automation Solutions
  • Recent experience in delivering global enterprise network services projects, FW/Proxy/End User/Automation a plus
  • Functional knowledge of OpenStack
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more Scripting languages, Python preferred
  • Experience with system automation, specifically related to FW/Proxy/End User/Automation a plus
  • Experience with infrastructure and server operations; application infrastructure and standards; networking fundamentals; Virtualization Technologies (eg VMware, HyperV, KVM) and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN/Proxy network technologies

Job Specific Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert in the Design and Architecture of FW/Proxy/End User/Automation technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of networking technologies as well as tiered and non-tiered application architectures
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows & Linux operating systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Internet services delivery and global load balancing
  • Functional working knowledge of Active Directory in an enterprise environment
  • Functional working knowledge of PCI-DSS and other relevant security requirements for the payments industry
  • Excellent documentation, diagramming, and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop project plans and schedules for complex projects or new product deployments
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex L4-7 issues using network protocol and log analysis, raw data captures, and the correlation of disparate events spanning multiple devices and platforms
