The Operations Manager will provide effective leadership and direction to Company's assembly operations including people management as follows: managing performance; addressing disciplinary issues; hiring; assisting people with career development; communicating information to direct reports, passing information up the management chain and fostering open communication; ensuring team is aligned with and accomplishing goals/objectives; administrative processing; and maintaining trust and confidentiality while fostering a team environment

Essential Functions:

  • Manage production process to assure time, quality, and quantities in a high mix-low volume environment for medical device manufacturing. Organize and coordinate activities within the manufacturing operation to meet or exceed the facility and corporate goals, including working with engineering group.
  • Establish a culture of operational excellence requirements and facilitate the incorporation in to the operations. Foster the adaptation and ownership while driving the expectations around sustaining best practices.
  • Lead and Coach teams to drive a high-performance culture that accommodates rapid and dynamic growth and results in Operational Excellence and high employee engagement.
  • Develop organizational leadership and support structures and effectively communicate expectations and priorities.
  • Proactively forecast direct labor requirements and develop creative solutions to achieve capacities along with industry-leading flexibility.
  • Define and justify the technology advancements necessary to achieve higher levels of performance. - Develop, maintain, and improve systems/procedures.
  • Incorporate appropriate levels of compliance performance monitoring and a reporting system around compliance and discipline. 

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, engineering or related field, or in the absence of a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years experience in a medical product/device manufacturing discipline.
  • 3+ years of Management Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing related area; additional course work on advanced degree in Business administration (MBA).
  • 5+ years experience in a production plant with progressive steps of increasing responsibility with 3+ years of management experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good judgment decisions and actions as to safeguard the personnel, equipment, property, environment, and reputation of the operations and corporation.
  • General knowledge of medical product manufacturing processes.
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude and the ability to translate into documentation and instruction.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks in both office and production areas.
  • Project management skills that demonstrate the ability to set goals and priorities in order to complete projects in a systematic and timely manner.
  • Presentation development and speaking delivery skills for internal and external employee, customer and supplier audiences.
  • Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with and consider input from supervisor, coworkers and members from other areas of the business.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Travel as required to remote plants, facilities, customers or suppliers
