Job Description

SQL Application Support Analyst
Puyallup, WA or Skokie, IL
$60-80K +bonus

The Application Support team provides direct assistance to our Client Services team to keep our production systems and services running smoothly. As part of the team, you'll help with client implementations, troubleshoot and repair software issues, monitor data loading (ETL) process, write and maintain SQL queries used for troubleshooting and reporting and help us improve our products and services.

Company prides itself on client service. This is true for our external clients as well as internal customers. As part of the Application Support team, you'll be supporting our Client Services team helping to maintain their exceptional level of service with our clients.

Qualified members of the application support team must be able to do the following effectively:

  • Write and maintain SQL queries for troubleshooting and reporting
  • Create and maintain SSRS reports
  • Install and/or configure new application software and updates as required
  • Provide application support via both phones and/or in person
  • Provide on-call application support after hours and on weekends as required
  • Assist in maintaining log of all IT requests, troubleshooting steps, methods and resolutions using Service Desk software
  • Assist with troubleshooting enterprise application issues to resolve production problems
  • Coordinate between Operations and Development for errors occurring in the software
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, implementing and monitoring routine tasks required for daily business operations
  • Utilize approved tools and processes for application support and ensures compliance of others

  • Ability to write complex queries for reporting and research purposes
  • Create fairly complex SQL queries to maintain client data (Inserts, Updates, Deletes)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems
  • Working knowledge Client Server concepts, relational databases and SQL
  • General knowledge of business and/or systems analysis
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams that may form and disband quickly
  • General knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and troubleshooting tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Must possess the ability to learn and understand business processes and relationship of systems and applications used to accomplish those processes
  • Proficient, analytical, decisive, troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to write clear instructions for end users
  • Occasionally required to work nights and/or weekends
  • Frequently sits and remains on the phone for extended periods of time
