Raytheon Applied Signal Technology is a diversified intelligence and defense company that develops systems that provide integrated sensor and signal processing capabilities in support of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. Our Engineering team has a need for a FPGA engineer to design, build, and maintain advanced high-capacity systems that process modern high-speed communications for the US intelligence community. This new hire will work with other experienced FPGA developers in our Salt Lake City, Utah office to provide cutting-edge products and services for the protection of our country.

Candidates should possess an understanding of FPGA development processes and FPGA digital design practices, have some background knowledge in digital signal processing and/or network communications, and have been exposed to the implementation of signal processing and/or network communications algorithms/dataflows in FPGA environments.

Candidates for the position must have strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work independently utilizing established procedures, while under supervision from senior FPGA development staff.

Required Skills:
Background knowledge in digital signal processing and/or network communications concepts
Familiarity with FPGA development tool flows
Familiarity with VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog HDL languages
Exposure to the design, simulation, and integration of FPGA module level designs
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
3.0 GPA (please include transcripts with application)

Desired Skills:
Background in digital signal processing and/or network processing FPGA applications
Experience with FPGA development tool environments and development tool flows
Experience in the design, simulation, and integration of FPGA module level designs utilizing VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog HDL development languages
Experience in resolving FPGA module level integration and test issues in hands-on lab environments
Exposure to circuit card design, implementation, integration, and test
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic

Required Education (including Major): Must have a BS / BA from an ABET accredited university with a major in Electrical Engineering or other related field by Summer 2016 or have graduated 18 months prior to start date.
