Job Description

NOTE: This position can be a Salary Grade E01 or Salary Grade E02 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Job Description:

The Electrical Subsystems Directorate (ESD) - RF & Microwave Center is currently searching for an Electrical Engineer to work with a variety of programs as a contributor to detailed design, simulation, product development and initial product testing.

Ideal candidate will have knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

Design engineer for the development of transmitters, receivers and exciters.

Familiarity with Radar basic concepts, hardware/software integration and test process and procedures.

Design, fabrication oversight, testing and optimization of all antenna types.

Familiarity with missile communication transceivers and data links, inertial measurement units (IMU) and Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver subsystems

The position requires frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques. Candidates will be expected to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. Successful candidate should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

Required Skills:

A solid background and practical understanding of RF design considerations to include experience or relevant course work.

Strong problem solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.

Experience in test and measurement of RF products.

Experience with any of the following tools: Mentor DX Designer, MATLAB, MathCad, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), UNIX and ADS.

Desired Skills:

Ability to prepare documentation with minimal oversight.

1 year of applicable experience

Strong technical and interpersonal skills with desire to support enterprise initiatives.

Candidate will have solid communication and teaming skills.
Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility and cost constraints.

Troubleshooting and organizational skills to support development and production tasks

Ability to develop project schedules, qualification plans, and management of sub-tier suppliers.

Group management skills, leadership skills and strong communication skills.

Required Eucation (including Major):

Bachelor degree Majors: Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Physics
