Job Description:

***This is a 4-6 month Coop opportunity for Spring 2016. Selected Candidate must be available to work Full Time during the Spring 2016 Semester***
Develop databases for software requirements and/or documents. Follow written work instructions that describe how to develop code and how to unit test. Participate in the development of test plans and procedures for system software. Run tests designed to verify system software operations and document results. Follow written and verbal directions.
Required Skills:
Formal coursework/training in higher level languages (C, C++, Java). Interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written. Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Desired Skills:
Assembly, C/C++ programming, structured programming concepts. Object-oriented design and Unified Model Language knowledge. Statistical and numerical methods.
This position can be a Salary Grade ST03, Salary Grade ST04 or Salary Grade ST05 based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
ST03 (Junior Technical Student)- must have completed 60 hours of college
ST04 (Senior Technical Student)- must have completed 90 hours of college
ST05- (Post-Graduate Technical Student)- must have an undergraduate degree, and currently seeking a graduate degree (In degree fields listed in Required Education)
Required Education (including Major):
Junior, Senior, or Post-graduate level standing in one of the following: E.C.E, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics (or other hard science) with a Minor in Computer Science from an ABET accredited curriculum with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
