Job Description:
The Quality Engineer works within integrated factory and program teams teams to analyze, control and improve product quality in a highly technical environment. Using statistical methods, a Quality Engineer (QE) analyzes product performance to identify significant variances to predicted and targeted values. Using product, process, and analysis knowledge, the QE validates measurement system capability. The QE applies engineering knowledge to prevent, identify, and resolve technical problems. In support of manufacturing and delivery, the QE designs and integrates performance and conformance verifications throughout the value stream processes to ensure performance requirements are met. To improve product performance, the QE will also perform analysis of defects to characterize causes and develop effective resolution plans.
Quality Engineers work in a wide variety of assignments from product development to assembly and test. Typical QE assignments include supporting operations integration and test teams, program teams, development efforts, software quality assurance, and supplier quality.
Required Skills:
Candidate must have demonstrated, through internships or project experience, the ability to analyze and solve technical problems. Candidate must have a "hands-on" preference for the problem solving process, and have excellent computer skills involving data analysis. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
Internship experience at an aerospace or defense company is preferred. Experience in quality, product testing, inspection, software, or statistical data analysis is valuable
Required Education(including Major):
Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science in one of following majors: Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mathematics from an ABET Accredited curriculum. Minimum GPA of 3.0 and have graduated in the past 18 months..

The Job Title for a Bachelor of Science degree is a Quality Assurance Engineer I and the Job Title for a Master of Science degree is a Quality Assurance Engineer II.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
