As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. The selected candidate will be required to secure these accesses. Not being able to secure the an interim secret security clearance is needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded.

Job Description:

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is the leading provider of sensor systems giving war fighters the most accurate and timely information available for the network-centric battlefield. The Radio Frequency (RF) Analyst is a key contributor to this effort.

This position is specifically for a Systems Engineer I to provide algorithm systems engineering as part of the Strategic Systems Development (SSD) Department. This department provides the full range of analysis-related activities in support of SAS radar programs.

These activities include:

development of mathematical algorithms for antenna array signal processing

computer modeling and simulation of sensor physics and phenomenology

performance predictions and analysis

design and development of radar waveforms for target detection and information

analysis of data received from radars on various types of airborne platforms

statistical modeling

technical presentations

Related day-to-day duties include: participating in peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test verification. This individual will interface with their team lead, team members, and other teams on a daily basis, conduct or participate in customer and/or program technical review presentations, and provide task progress status updates and work products to the team lead.

Required Skills:

1+ years of school work or related experience developing original mathematical algorithms or quantitative analysis techniques

1+ years of experience with MATLAB or C/C++

Demonstrated mathematical problem solving ability and data analysis experience

Demonstrated interpersonal communication, presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills

Must be granted an interim Secret Security clearance PRIOR to starting

Desired Skills:

Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred, but not required.

1+ years of work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: Signal Processing, search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, synthetic aperture radar mapping, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive techniques

Customer focus and collaboration skills

Demonstrated team leadership experience

An understanding of the physical limitations to implementing complex algorithms in real hardware

Required Education (including Major):

Must have a BS / BA from an ABET accredited university with a major in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or other related technical degree by Summer 2015 or have graduated 18 months prior to start date.
