The Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) Quality Engineering Center (QEC) is dedicated to providing RMS programs with the best missile systems quality engineering disciplines in support of the American war fighters and our allies. Job Description:

Candidate uses and applies basic software quality engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques associated with C and C++ software development. Candidate will work with a team of software engineering professionals to ensure the solutions to a variety of challenging technical problems not only meet the program requirements but comply with established engineering practices and processes. Candidate will follow established procedures and will contribute to the successful completion of software related milestones associated with specific projects including C/C++ software development, design, code, unit test and formal testing for embedded real-time systems, Test Systems and Configurable Logic (Firmware) solutions. Candidate will interact with senior software and quality personnel on a situational basis and has knowledge of emerging software technologies. Candidate is required to produce documentation related to the compliance of the software artifact with the established requirements and release of associated artifacts and is expected to give formal and informal presentations to senior software quality personnel.

Required Skills:

College course work should include C/C++ or Java

1 year of calculus, physics and computer science studies that include assembly level programming

Data structures and algorithms

Systems software design and operating systems and architectures

Must have good interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills:

Holding a current Secret clearance is a plus

Internships or cooperative work assignments in an applicable software development, test or quality engineering environment. Experience in a DoD engineering environment is a plus.

Math classes beyond Calculus such as Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Engineering Mathematics

Computer Science classes such as Operating Systems and Compiler Design

Electrical Engineering classes related to embedded systems design

Data structures and algorithms

Systems software design and operating systems and architectures

Must have good interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.

Required Education(including Major):

Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics (or other hard science) with a Minor in Computer Science; Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. GPA of 3.3 or higher preferred.

The Job Title for a Bachelor of Science degree is a Software Engineer I. The Job Title for a Master of Science degree is a Software Engineer II.

The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
