Job Description

The Systems Test organization is a recognized leader for developing test strategies and providing test solutions for the customer's entire product life cycle. We develop, integrate, and execute test strategies and solutions to guarantee product performance, producibility, and warfighter suitability through collaboration across Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS).  The Test System Engineering (TSE) Department in the Advanced Test System Engineering Center (ATSEC) has the direct responsibility to grow and sustain the Systems Engineering competencies throughout the whole systems life cycle with a focus on developing Test Systems Engineers and Test Architects to make test more affordable, credible, agile, and robust. These methodologies include systems engineering, test strategy, test architecture, test requirements, embedded test, agile development for test, model based engineering, test optimization, and physical and virtual verification solutions. The TSE department utilizes a combination of traditional and new systems engineering methodologies and supports all Raytheon Missiles Systems (RMS) products, including new business initiatives, maintenance contracts, Internal Research and Development (IRADs), special projects, Engineering Capital projects, and all the activities supported by the Systems Test Directorate.


Job Description:

As a member of a Test Systems Engineering team, the position will participate in development, management and tracing of requirements with an eye towards how prime item requirements will be tested at every level from component to all up round to development and operational test.  Activities will include:


  • Modeling and Analysis of designs utilizing defined processes and tools

  • Close collaboration with the Test Architects, Systems and Responsible Engineers supporting the development of  detailed requirements for engineering and production test equipment solutions

  • Work with Test Equipment and Reliability Engineers to optimize the value of test

  • Develop subsystem and system test requirements, Built in Test (BIT) definition, and end user diagnostic solutions.

  • Optimize laboratory integration and test activities and system level integration and field/flight test activities

  • Refine testability tools and processes to increase efficiencies and reduce cycle time.


    Required Skills:

  • Education in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with an introduction to the principles of Industrial or System Engineering.

  • Familiarity with embedded software

  • Familiarity with Circuit Card Assembly design.

  • Ability to develop and present analysis results to small and large engineering audiences


    Desired Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with DSI eXpress TM  testability modeling tool

  • Education or experience in Design of Experiment, Regression Analysis, System Simulation, Math modeling and optimization, and Data analysis in Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, JMP, Minitab, or other equivalent tool.

  • Familiarity or Education with Agile Development and/or Model Based Engineering


    Required Education: Bachelors degree but Masters Degree desired in Computer Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a related discipline from an ABET accredited curriculum with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
