Job Description

The Space Integration Test and Space Seekers multiproduct factory has an opportunity for a Project Test Engineering Section Lead within Manufacturing and Test Engineering (MTE) who will be responsible for helping to lead a support team consisting of Project Test Engineers (PTE) who are technically trained individuals with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience. The successful candidate will report to a PTE Section Manager and be accountable for the daily management and direction of approximately 12 PTEs. The team’s charter is to drive product test integrity by engaging throughout the production lifecycle to maintain and control test systems, improve test processes and influence testability in the product design.

The candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 8 hour work day and 40 hour work week, including alternating weekend and holiday coverage throughout the year. This position requires direct support of manufacturing activities and spending nearly 100% of daily time in the factory areas and able to work in a dynamic environment.

This position can be a G09 or G10 depending on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for this position.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Responsibilities:

Position Requirements:
Manager I Electrical Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field and 6 years of technical/engineering experience with emphasis in test engineering, or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field and 4 years of technical/engineering experience with emphasis in test engineering
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/factory test environment
  • Experience with test system troubleshooting
  • Experience leading root cause and corrective actions
  • U.S Citizenship is required

Manager II Electrical Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field and 8 years of technical/engineering experience with emphasis in test engineering, or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field and 6 years of technical/engineering experience with emphasis in test engineering
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/factory test environment
  • Experience with test system troubleshooting
  • Experience leading root cause and corrective actions
  • U.S Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with systems such as PRISM, SAP
  • Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with validation of test systems
  • Experience presenting to diverse audiences
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Current DOD Security Clearance

Working Environments:
This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas.
