Job Description

Position Overview:
The Sr. Planning Production Control Specialist individual will perform a variety business tasks in support of RMS Depot programs. The candidate needs to be energetic, willing to learn, able to work independently and have the ability and desire to be a change agent. This individual will manage multiple assemblies and the associated tasks listed below are necessary in order to prevent a work stoppage or a slip in schedule, both of which would have a significant impact to the program’s cost and schedule requirements. This position will also support the accurate and compliant management of processes and records related to Government Furnished Material (GFM).


  • Evaluate and coordinate material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production/customer requirements
  • Evaluate and status the assemblies that are in progress, material availability, and potential production problems
  • Solves any potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
  • Control and analysis of multiple and moderate complexity, Bills of Material in an MRP system
  • Confirm material supply demand and prepares necessary work orders based on shop load and inventory requirements
  • Organize engineering/program shipping requests to locations like Dahllgren, Pt. Hueneme and international suppliers
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders
  • Responsible for the material tracking from receipt of the material to shipment of end items
  • Propose solutions to mitigate any work stoppage the factory teams may experience due to any slips in material supply
  • Interface with internal and external customers
  • Authorize factory work via Depot Service orders and follows that through to completion
  • Receipt and issue of Depot hardware as well as managing inventory for Depot repair
  • Reconciling monthly and annual cycle counts
  • Support program screening and disposition effort associated with contract close out
  • Processing scrap via Plant Clearance Process
  • Coordinate and support inventory research
  • Support DCMA audits as needed
  • Understand the FAR in general terms

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of MRP, Inventory Management, JIT Concepts
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills to ensure detailed status provided to the Value Stream Manager and team
  • Ability to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Existing or ; The ability to obtain/maintain and DOD Security Clearance

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field
Four (4) years of relevant work experience
Ten (10) years of creditable professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree completion

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with SAP system
  • Experience with Government and Depot type Processes.
  • Active DOD Security Clearance
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a fast paced Production environment
