Job Description:
This is a position in McKinney, Tx, with some occasional work in the Dallas, Tx site, for a power supply design engineer in the Hardware Electronics Center of Raytheon\u2019s Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business unit to design and develop power conversion technologies for space, airborne and ground military applications.


Required Skills:
\u2022 0-2 years hands-on experience and working with switching power converters
\u2022 Experience with designing and testing of analog circuits
\u2022 Experience with designing PWB\u2019s
\u2022 Familiarity with multiple conversion topologies (Flyback, Forward, Boost, Phase-Shifted-Full-Bridge, LLC, etc.) and experience with simulating and modeling designs
\u2022 Experience with LTSPICE or similar simulation tools
\u2022 Experience with schematic capture and PCB tools, layout and rout of analog circuits
\u2022 Familiarity with developing test plans, procedures and test solutions
\u2022 U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
\u2022 U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
\u2022 Able to work in highly dynamic collaborative environment and multi-discipline team environment
\u2022 Experience with designing and testing of AC-DC Converters

\u2022 Familiarity with magnetics, i.e., magnetization inductance, magnetization current, leakage inductance, intra-winding and inter-winding capacitance, self-resonant frequency, characteristics and limitations of magnetic cores, core saturation, core loss, high frequency losses, core reset, winding techniques for optimization of desired magnetics, and design of current transformers
\u2022 Knowledge of the Mentor Expedition/DxDesigner schematic capture/PCB Layout tools
\u2022 Simulation with Sabre desirable
\u2022 Analysis tools such as MATLAB, MATHCAD, Ansoft Maxwell and PExpert, Hyperlinx PI and SI
\u2022 Digital and analog control design, including components
\u2022 Working knowledge of EMI/EMC design and abatement
\u2022 Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
\u2022 Prior or current U.S. Secret Security clearance
\u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
\u2022 0+ years of experience in analog and power electronics
