Job Description

Raytheon Global Business Services (GBS) has an opening on the Enterprise IT Security Team for an intern to join the Cyber Threat Hunting Services team. This position will be responsible for analyzing anomalous activity within the network environment or enclave, collaborating with the owners of cyber defense tools to tune systems for optimum performance, and analyzing attacker tactics to improve network detection capabilities.

Job Description:

  • Leverage internal and external resources to research threats, vulnerabilities, and intelligence on various attackers and attack infrastructure
  • Identify threats, determine root cause, scope, and severity of each, and compile/report findings into a finished analytical product
  • Generate and report cybersecurity metrics
  • Recommend system tuning/customization and data collection improvements
  • Work with our Penetration Testers and Cybersecurity Assessors to develop new tactics and techniques for identifying suspicious activity
Required Skills:
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Solid understanding of current cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack trends
  • Solid understanding of common computer networking protocols and technologies, and server and desktop operating systems
  • This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
Desired Skills:
  • 3.0 GPA and above
  • Relevant class projects, professional internships, or academic research
  • Experience with some/all of: Splunk, enterprise vulnerability scanners, nmap, pcap systems, DLP tools, enterprise network proxies
  • Familiarity with: Netflow data, DNS, Proxy, Mail, PCAP and Windows Logs
  • Familiarity of vulnerability management, cybersecurity assessments, cyber operations, and incident response
  • Scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and PowerShell
  • Web application development
  • Experience with performing penetration tests or cybersecurity assessments
  • Experience with virtualization and common cloud environments
  • Desired Certifications: EC Council CEH; GIAC GCIH, GPEN, GCIA, GCDA, GDAT, GCFE, GCNA, GREM; ISC2 CISSP; Splunk Power User

Required Education (including Major):
  • Candidate must be actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or similar technical discipline.Please upload a copy of your most recent transcripts with your resume when applying to this requisition.
