Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) in Marlborough, MA is seeking an experienced systems engineering lead to oversee development, deployment, and support within the Highways and Transportation Solutions (HTS) product area. The position will use Marlborough, MA as the home base, with some travel to customer sites to support business needs.
HTS is part of the Navigation and Modernization Solutions (NMS) mission area within IIS and with primary support on located on both coasts in Marlborough, MA. NMS mission area provides satellite-based mission planning and data processing to support civil and military missions, specializing in the ground systems needed to launch, operate and plan satellite missions. NMS also provides modernized air traffic management with a focus on cyber-hardened avionics, GPS-guided precision landing, and enhanced weather planning.

From proactive cyber threat hunting to GPS-guided precision landing to enhanced mid- and long-range weather planning, Raytheon continues to pave the way for the data-driven, dynamic future of air travel. Our unique portfolio of automation, surveillance, navigation and landing solutions —backed by extensive cyber, analytics and software expertise— is improving safety and efficiency across more than two-thirds of the world's air space.

This position is for a System Engineer who can have leadership roles within a multi-disciplined engineering team supporting existing deployments and innovative research and development. This Systems Engineer provides scheduling and direction to engineering team to lead special projects, proposal efforts, technology refresh programs, product enhancements, and obsolescence mitigation efforts.

Required Skills:
  • 10+ Systems engineering experience – to include requirements analysis and development, large system design, system level integration, system testing (hands on), system integration, trouble shooting and testing
  • Multi-disciplinary engineer, knowledgeable in multiple key technology areas including: Requirements management, cameras, virtualized computing environments, software testing, large system integration
  • Lead technology refresh effort, identifying new technologies and replacement components for obsolete parts
  • Communicate with product leadership and customer representatives on technical matters
  • Provide engineering support for new projects, system and software changes
  • Support engineering change proposal process (cost estimation, analysis, design, implementation and test)
  • Prepare test plans, procedures, and test reports
  • Conduct customer capability selloff testing

  • Experience ensuring program progress via formal risk and opportunity management
  • Sensor integration experience
  • DOORS experience
Education Requirements:
Requires a Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience.
