The Test Automation Department (TAD) is responsible for the design and development of test equipment hardware and software to support a wide range of products and customers. The Airborne Processors (ABP) Test Systems section within TAD is a growing and highly motivated team who consistently provides quality on-time solutions to support external and internal customers seeking innovative and economical solutions for their product lines.

The ABP Test Systems section is currently seeking an electrical, computer, or software engineer to join our team.

Primary responsibilities as an electrical or computer engineer will be to perform architectural and detailed design of test positions, test adapters, system interface circuit cards, cable design, and integration of test positions and post-delivery support.

Primary responsibilities as a computer or software engineer will be to develop test software to exercise and analyze deliverable product. Other responsibilities are to support conceptual and detailed design of test positions and test adapters as well as integration and post-delivery support of these test systems.

Candidate will be expected to follow established procedures and instructions (IPDS and the One-page processes) while working closely with program and functional supervision to ensure the overall design objectives are met. Candidate must be able to support cradle to grave efforts including proposal generation, conceptual modeling, requirements, detailed design, integration, and verification activities.

Required Skills:

  • 0-2 years of electrical engineering development including circuit design, analysis, test hardware and software knowledge
  • 0-2 years of test software development with emphasis in automated test systems
  • Experience with schematic capture, circuit simulation, and analysis tools
  • Experience using test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, DIOs, Relays, Generators, etc
  • Experience with LabWindows CVI, Labview, TestStand , C++, C#, or other programming languages Experience with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics and software (emphasis on National Instruments product lines)
  • Experience with the development and integration of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces
  • Knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, Serial Communication
  • Familiarity with National Instruments product lines, both hardware and software development
  • Familiar with analog, digital, and/or RF signal test and analysis
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple tasks, developing solutions under only general direction, and demonstrating solid troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to obtain a DoD issued Secret Clearance within first year of start date
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

  • Ability to translate requirements into cost effective and creative solutions
  • Sense of process discipline, order, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, environments, and tools
  • Experience using model based design and Unified Modeling Language (UML) to visualize software architecture and design
  • Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals
  • Engineering experience working within a team environment
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current and Active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BS), Master’s Degree (MS), or Doctorate (PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering field is required.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
