Job Description


This position serves as the Air Warfare Systems (AWS) product line staff executive reporting directly to the AWS vice president, while working closely with AWS program directors, program managers, functional leaders and staff within the AWS product line. Due to the breadth of responsibility, this position provides tremendous exposure to the AWS leadership team’s day-to-day operations and strategic direction for the product line, as well as the opportunity to demonstrate a high level of creativity, innovation, and initiative. This position is designed to be a short-term assignment (~24 months) and serves as a development opportunity for a future program manager.

The staff executive role is a highly visible position within AWS and the Raytheon Missiles Business Unit requiring a high attention to detail while responding quickly to urgent business needs. Responsibilities include leading various product line initiatives as defined by the product line goals, strategic and tactical facilities planning, indirect budget management, emergency preparedness planning, chairing the AWS safety council, product line capital planning, speechwriting, and development of monthly product line reviews and corporate reports. The ability to develop solutions to problems with unusual complexity is critical for this role.

Required Skills:
  • At least 6 years exempt level experience with demonstrated progression through increasing levels of responsibility
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior executives and senior customer leadership
  • Self-starter with strong collaboration skills
  • High situational awareness with strong organizational, planning, analytical, teaming, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience working multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers, with tight deadlines under stressful conditions
  • Strong desire to ultimately move into a program management role
  • High proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Desired Skills:
  • Certified as Level 6 Program Manager or Program Management Professional (PMP) equivalent
  • Working knowledge of industry products and capabilities
  • Demonstrated success formulating impactful internal and external domestic and foreign customer briefs and presenting complex information to executive level audiences
  • Ability to confidently interface and influence at all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse groups of people to accomplish complex operations
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in non-technical related field, but preference of concentration in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
