Job Description

Systems Engineer I (Bachelor's Degree Level)

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) has an entry level Systems Engineer I position for recent college graduates to join and expand our Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position will work to develop solutions to solve customer needs by providing customized engineering services and products for unique customer missions.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide basic support developing and documenting requirements and interfaces
  • Provide basic support developing, documenting and executing system verification to show compliance
  • Integrate software and hardware subsystems
  • Follow a structured data driven approach to solve problems
  • Contribute to the completion of project/program milestones under the general guidance of the immediate supervisor and team leads
  • Follow established SE processes and procedures

Security Clearance:
  • Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the requirements to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles, theories and concepts
  • Ability to develop solutions to routine technical problems
  • Ability to work in a multi discipline team environment
  • Ability to articulate status and results
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills

Desired Skills:
  • Exposure to requirements development, derivation and management
  • Exposure to integration of software and hardware subsystems
  • Exposure to security engineering concepts and practices and the software development life cycle
  • Exposure to Aerospace platforms / systems
  • Ability to research and distill data into meaningful information
  • Experience using MS Office Suite of tools
  • Previous Engineering project and internship experience

Required Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Aeronautical, Mechanical), Computer Science, Physics, Math or a closely related STEM field obtained in the last 18 months or by Spring 2020. A GPA of 3.0+ is strongly desired. Please include your GPA on your resume and a copy of your current transcript.
