Job Description

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) has an opening for a Contracts Specialist supporting the Airborne Early Warning and Reconnaissance Systems (AWERS) Mission Area on the Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASARS) -2B Development Program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following activities as part of a dynamic and highly functioning Contracts team:

•Participate in and/or support proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
•Supporting the Contracts Manager with proposals, negotiations, execution, and closeout of contracts
• Support and interface with internal functional organizations (Finance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Pricing) in the daily administration and proposal process
• Prepare, submit and negotiate proposals; perform TINA sweeps, prepare confirmation of negotiations
•Compile and analyze data, maintain historical information, prepare reports, track contract milestones and deliverables, and perform other duties as required to ensure contract compliance.
•Ensure transparency of highlights, issues, and concerns for internal stakeholders.
• Be responsible for compliance within the areas of contract set-up, deliverables, invoice tracking, cash collection, internal/external reporting and audits and closeouts
•Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships to drive results




Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field or 8 years of additional experience in lieu of education. 4 years of relevant work experience in Government contract administration with various contract types (CPAF, CPIF, CPFF, FFP, T&M)
  • Exposure to the FAR, DFARS, ITAR, TINA requirements, terms and conditions
  • Strong communicator both orally and in writing; robust analytical skills
  • Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust
  • Solid organizational skills, Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • •Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to obtain DoD clearances
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Desired Skills:
  • Contract administration experience with the US Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Ability to research and resolve compliance issues and formulate recommendations to management and the program
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field or 8 years additional experience in lieu of education
