Job Description:
The Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) division of Raytheon is seeking a second shift electrical engineer with experience in Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) products and factory production support. The individual must be self-motivated and will work with a cross functional team including engineering, factory management, program management, and operations assembly and test. This position will reside in a SAS Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) department that supports the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems (ISRS) Mission Area.

The first 3 - 6 months will be in support of first shift to receive training and experience with the different Multi-Spectral Targeting (MTS) system variants produced in the McKinney, TX Consolidated Manufacturing Center. Once the candidate is prepared to support the factory independently, the work assignment will move to second shift. Work start times for second shift can vary between 2 to 4 pm depending on business conditions and standard workdays will be Monday through Friday. There will also be required weekend work approximately once every two months in support of a weekend rotation schedule.

Job related activities include:
  • Troubleshooting systems failing test, identifying failure cause, and dispositioning hardware for repair
  • Operation of electrical and optical test equipment
  • Investigation of failure trends for root cause and implementation of corrective actions
  • Participation in teams tasked with resolving technical issues, improving test yields, and reducing test cycle time
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical engineering or related engineering field
  • Experience with EO/IR systems in a production environment
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities on multiple tasks
  • Strong technical aptitude as shown by strong grades or hands on lab experience
  • Experience reading drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting electrical circuits and documenting test results
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position requires access to US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience working in a lab environment with standard EE lab equipment (i.e,. Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, signal sources)
  • Root cause and corrective action experience
  • Experience in data analysis for identifying trends and improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Active Secret Clearance

Required Education (including Major): Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
