Job Description:
The Raytheon IIS Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering (HW&I) team has a Principal Network Engineer opportunity available in Indianapolis IN. Skills and responsibilities include conducting network architecture & design, and feasibility and cost studies for tactical edge networking. The individual will communicate technical solutions and challenges effectively upward to the customer community while communicating technical architecture and solutions more detailed to the development team. The candidate will possess industry certifications such as a CCNP or related and several years of Architectural design experience, as well as experience creating engineering design artifacts from requirements for networked systems.
US Citizenship is required, and ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance is preferred for this position.
Required Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of network and security architecture and operations functions, tools and processes (routers, switches, firewall, VPN Client/Gateway, IDS, Cyber Logging, Linux, Virtualization, etc)
  • Experience developing technical documents
  • Experience presenting technical information to an audience
  • Experience working with subcontractors
  • US Citizenship and able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:
  • Master's degree in computer science, or engineering or its equivalent combined with a minimum of 8 years’ experience.
  • Experience with MANET radios, RMF process, NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified, KVM, strongSwan, RADIUS, pfSense, Snort, etc.
  • Network Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE
  • Security+ or CISSP
  • Knowledge/experience with DoD Network Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and IA hardening requirements and implementation
  • Current Secret security clearance.


Required Education (including Major):
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of related work experience
