Job Description

This position is 3rd Shift (10:00pm - 6:30am).

Job Functions Include:

·Repairs, alters and adapts a wide variety of sometimes complicated mechanical, computer numerical controlled (CNC), direct numerical controlled (DNC), electronic controlled and hydraulic actuated, standard and special production and facility equipment used in Company.Performs all required operations to install, maintain, diagnose trouble and make necessary repairs.

·Works from prints, sketches, models, machine tool manufacturers’ instructions and diagrams, and verbal instructions to diagnose trouble and make necessary replacement of parts and repairs to a wide variety of machinery located in Company.

·Works on fork lift trucks, lifting equipment, A/C pulleys, belts, motor direct or indirect drives, bearings, shafts, overhead doors drive mechanisms (only), turbine type blowers, compressors, vacuum and wet process pumps, air actuators, valves that control motion of air and hydraulic fluid and other assigned equipment.

·Troubleshoots hydraulic machines with gauges to locate malfunctioning, and works with others to service CNC/DNC and electronic controlled machinery.Uses cycle of machines.

·Works with production and industrial engineers to develop and adapt special equipment for production.

·When new replacement parts are not available, sets up and operates above machines to reproduce any necessary part to required close tolerances.

·Makes jigs, fixtures and any special tools necessary for completion of work.

·Moves heavy machine parts as necessary to disassemble and assemble machine tools.

·Requires considerable skill and thorough knowledge of machinist trade to tear down and reassemble complex mechanisms, diagnose and remedy trouble quickly on regular or emergency repairs.

·Performs hand operations such as filing, fitting and bearing scraping.

·Selects proper type of materials to be used such as hard enable or soft steels, non-ferrous bearing metals, magnetic or non-magnetic stainless steel.

·Performs some welding, brazing and heat treating of metals.

·Fabricates various types of plastic and other materials as necessary.

·Requires knowledge of hazardous nature of chemicals and its effect on parts and materials in order to safely and properly maintain and repair equipment located throughout facility.

·Performs required oiling and lubrication of machines.

·Performs general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools and equipment

·Maintains records, moves materials and follows safety rules in performance of duties.

·Performs other similar duties as required or directed.

Required Skills:

·Minimum 5 years relevant experience

·U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:
·Four years apprenticeship in machinist trade or equivalent

Required Education:

·High School diploma or equivalent
