Job Description

The Microelectronics department in Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems’ Hardware Engineering Center is seeking an experienced responsible engineering authority for Digital Design specifically FPGA and ASIC development.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 8+ years of related engineering experience
  • At least 4-6 years of experience designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and delivering digital electronics including FPGAs and/or ASICs.
  • At least four years of engineering leadership experience as Responsible Engineering Authority, team lead, or Integrated Product Team Lead of digital circuit card / module / unit.
  • At least 4-6 years of experience using VHDL
  • At least 6 years of experience using Xilinx, Altera, and/or SmartFusion FPGAs
  • Experience with scripting language such as Python, Perl, TCL, etc
  • Experience in requirements allocation and generation
  • Experience designing high speed interfaces for memories and SERDES channels
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment and to coordinate actions, fast learner. Demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, providing technical and schedule status to management, customers and fellow team members.
  • Proven customer-oriented personality. Experience presenting to and interfacing with customers (internal and external).

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • At least 2-4 years’ experience designing digital ASICs
  • Expertise in Xilinx and Microsemi FPGAs and their tool suites (Virtex 7 Series, Utrascale/ +)
  • Expertise in PCI-e (requirements/architectures/design & implementation)
  • Expertise in Flash memory technologies (interfacing/management)
  • Experience design digital CCAs (modules)
  • Experience interfacing to DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 memories
  • Experience designing embedded processors and FPGAs
  • Experience writing low level embedded software (C, C++)
