Job Description

Raytheon’s Electrical Engineering Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration and production to a wide range of hardware in Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS).

The Hardware Engineering Process Group (HEPG) is responsible for process development, performance analysis, training and improvement across electrical and mechanical design centers across the country in IDS. Assignments include involvement in a variety of local, cross organizational and companywide process projects, measures and improvement activities.

This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

This position will require developing, deploying, analyzing hardware design organizational performance measures based on a solid understanding of hardware (Electrical) design. The candidate should have an understanding of the application of statistical techniques in a hardware engineering development environment. The position requires the ability to apply these techniques to organizational metrics such as defect and productivity measures and to train and mentor others in application and interpretation. Additionally, analyzing and communicating/presenting data and summary of analysis as well as improvement recommendations to various levels of the organization including senior management and executive management will be expected.

Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years' experience in hardware design and development
  • 4+ years experience in application of measures and metrics for hardware/electrical design.
  • Ability to do data interpretation and analysis as well as mentor others
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, across organizational levels
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Required Education:
  • BS degree in Engineering or related technical field (Electrical Engineering preferred)
Desired Skills:
  • MS degree or PhD in Engineering or related technical field
  • CMMI experience
  • Raytheon Six Sigma experience
  • AGILE/LEAN familiarity or experience
