Job Description

Exciting opportunity in Raytheon Space and Airborne System’s (SAS) as a member of the Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) Antenna and Microwave Products department. The subject candidate must possess domain knowledge and experience in antenna engineering with specific experience in design, modeling, and test. The successful candidate will support program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in partnering to provide antenna solutions that optimally meet system requirements. The candidate will also be a member of the radome and aperture products section, an 18 person team based in McKinney, TX. The candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills and bring their passion to learn and advance within the organization. Lastly, it is strongly desired the candidate has knowledge and experience in industry standard electromagnetic modeling tools and methods, including HFSS and CST and data processing tools including Matlab.

Possible focus areas:
Antenna Design – Phased Arrays, Radiating Elements, Reflectors, Feedhorns, Radomes/Frequency Selective Surfaces, Simulation and Layout, Antenna Test

Antenna Systems - Antenna System Analysis, Array Analysis, Electromagnetic Analysis, Array Calibration, Signal Level, Assembly, Integration and Test

Antenna/Microwave Subsystems - Phased Array Subsystems, High Power Subsystems, Antenna Subsystems, Signal Level Analysis, Subsystem Integration and Test

Required Skills:

  • Willing to participate in advancing the state of the art with regard to antenna design and EM analysis, modeling and test with continual innovation.
  • Solid understanding of antenna engineering principles including phased array theory
  • Demonstrated ability to perform structured design processes, root-cause problem solving, and successful on-time / on-schedule task execution
  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance as well as the ability to obtain special access clearance(s)
  • Customer focus and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • 0 to 2 years related work experience
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.


Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS
  • Working knowledge of Matlab, and AutoCAD.


Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics or related technical degree

Desired Education: Master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics or related technical degree
