Job Description

Raytheon is looking for individuals with a proven track record leading and managing teams as a section manager in the areas of FPGA and Digital Products to work with our team within the S3 Airborne Radar Department. You will be leading a talented team on the development of next generation and sustaining Digital, FPGA and Processor technologies for Airborne Radars.
A successful candidate will be an experienced team lead and possess the ability to work in a high-octane and high demanding environment and able to manage engineers who are involved in the development of requirements, architecture, design, analysis, detailed trade studies, simulation and test of digital circuits and FPGAs. A successful candidate will have the technical knowledge and understanding of the products being managed and experience acting as a leader for a group of engineers.
The applicant will lead proposals and program execution to meet program specifications within allocated cost and schedule. They will prepare and manage staffing and loading across the period of performance, facilitate design performance and cost trade-offs, manage risks and opportunities, organize and lead team meetings, participate in internal design reviews, and program and customer reviews.

The candidate should be familiar in the use of Earned Value Management System (EVMS). They will prepare and present Program Performance Reviews (PPRs), Variance Analysis Reviews (VARs), Estimate At Completion (EACs) and other reports for periodic meetings for the department. They will be responsible to evaluate performance of the program and take necessary actions to keep the program within cost & schedule while identifying and mitigating program risks.
Experience may include functional & team management, including team leadership, staffing, staff management, performance & career development and team development. They will be actively engaged in developing staffing plans and hiring.
The individual should be self-motivated and be prepared to work with a focused team with an innovative, yet schedule oriented mindset. This candidate will be leading production projects, leading proposal activities and providing cost estimates based on prior programs, and authoring Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
The candidate will be a team leader and must have a proven track record of leading and working well within multi-disciplined teams. They will have engagement with program managers, program chief engineers, and other functional management to align staffing with program needs.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years of hands on industry experience in Digital/FPGA design & development, technical leadership, functional leadership or IPTL/CAM experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Module design and architectural trade analysis of related products.
  • Experience working with production support in a factory environment
  • Experience in proposals and developing technical solutions and writing portions of both technical and cost volumes
  • Able to communicate technical issues and path forward to Program leadership including Program Managers and Chief Engineers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of leading technical issues and investigation on Airborne Radar Hardware
  • Able to work and lead with multi-disciplined engineering team in resolving technical issues and investigation
  • Able to work and lead with multi-functional groups besides engineering such as Operation, Quality, Supply chain, Finance, and Program management
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and correcting defects
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. DOD Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
