An individual Installation Technician will work under the supervision of the Raytheon Team Lead and will participate in the day to day on-site activities including site preparation, old equipment removal and new radar equipment installation. Our Team is responsible for: (i.) the installation of new hardware, (ii.) the modification of existing hardware and then, upon completion of the hardware updates, the equipment start-up and functional testing.
We have a long track record of excellence in fulfilling the new radar equipment installation, start-up and testing requirements under varying site conditions. This work is challenging, critical but rewarding when we successfully complete the installation of new significantly improved and more capable radar systems. We will provide orientation and training to ensure the success of new Team members / personnel. Out Raytheon Installation Team Lead will coordinate the on-site work plans and schedules with the on-site Team and also with Raytheon Program Management and customer (FAA/DoD) site personnel.

Required Skills: You should (preferably) have at least two years of related prior experience in installation, and start-up of FAA or military air traffic control radar systems or related electrical equipment. Prior related experience and training in the areas of electrical power equipment installation, electronic control and monitoring equipment or air traffic control radar systems will be considered as relevant experience.

Candidates should be familiar with electrical equipment site preparation (construction), high value equipment handling and installation and (ideally) FAA equipment installation standards, and requirements, including grounding systems. For qualified candidates with related experience, we will provide appropriate training in order to ensure mutual success.

Candidates should be highly proficient with the use of hand and power tools, soldering of electrical connectors and the use and operation of electrical test equipment.

You must be willing and able to travel up to 100% of the time away from home to work at installation sites nationwide. We will reimburse travel related expenses. In addition, all candidates must be eligible to obtain FAA and US Government Department of Defense security clearances.

Desired Skills: Prior electrical site preparation and electrical equipment installation and testing experience is essential. For qualified and highly motivated candidates, we will provide on-the-job and supplemental training. An ideal candidate will also have a high level of skill in personal computer use and applications and experience or an interest in learning the operation and use of electronic test equipment. A commitment to ensuring safe work practices and maintaining effective communications with Team members and customer representatives is essential.
