Job Description

This position requires an active U.S. TOP SECRET Security Clearance with the ability to increase to TS/SCI.

GTS is leading the way with the development, integration, test, validation, and training support activities for the Army’s cyber training environment. GTS has an opportunity for its Lead Sustainment Engineer providing the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive logistics strategies, processes, tools and techniques. The Lead Sustainment Engineer is involved in all aspects of development including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing through sell-off of the most sophisticated cyber training system and supporting technologies. The Lead Sustainment Engineer has technical responsibility for the operation and sustainment of the deployed cyber enterprise training platform. The Lead Sustainment Engineer is the technical lead of the sustainment team which supports operations of the components, applications, tools, and other interfaces to maximize the Operational Availability (Ao) of the platform, as well as the modernization effort which includes the technology refresh of new infrastructure components. He/she is also responsible for the overall integrity of the system, sustaining the currently fielded baseline and maintaining the standardization of site configurations.

Additional Responsibilities:
Lead the Sustainment IPT Lead in directing engineering activities and providing technical oversight of the engineering team. Assess system performance and supportability and recommend improvements to increase technical capability, maintainability and sustainability Partner with customer and internal stakeholders to determine program technical priorities Review and approve changes to the technical baselines via CCB actions Participate in proposal and engineering change proposal development. Contribute to risk and opportunity management.
Mentor and develop team members, specifically, act as a role model by demonstrating that technical issues and problems provide learning opportunities; focus on employee talents to delegate specific assignments focusing on their growth. Experience in preparing management level briefings and summary explanations. Experience in sustaining engineering of complex systems of systems with large numbers of COTS software products and custom software configuration items, including familiarity with industry standard management tools Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and negotiation skills Experience with large software intensive systems of systems Previous experience with software and hardware maintenance. Experience working in a multi discipline environment. Proven written and verbal communications, influential, leadership, and analytical skills.

Required Skills:
This position requires an active U.S. TOP SECRET Security Clearance with the ability to increase to TS/SCI. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for selection to this program therefore U.S. Citizenship is required.
The position requires 12+ years related logistics engineering experience and 5+ years supervisory engineering experience leading teams of logisticians. The nature of the contract will require experience in proposal development.

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or related discipline.

Desired Skills:
Ability to travel frequently to Raytheon and customer locations across the country. Experience with software intensive development and sustainment systems. Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD), and/or commercial and non-traditional customer sets (e.g. Combatant Commands, Homeland Security).
Masters or Doctorate Degree in Engineering or related discipline is a plus.
