Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is the provider of AESA Radar Systems which provide the war fighter with the most accurate and timely information available for the network-centric battlefield. The Systems Engineering Integration and Test Center (SEIT) organization is seeking committed engineering leaders who are passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective solutions for the warfighter.

We are seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to become a member of the Tactical RF Systems Department as a key contributor within the Advanced Capabilities and Technologies (ACT) mission area with primary responsibilities to include:
  • Analyzing system requirements, decomposing requirements to software subsystems, and defining testing criteria of the requirements at the software and system level
  • Troubleshooting flight systems, computer systems, software problems, and networking connectivity issues
  • Interface with system hardware and software teams to resolve technical issues during the integration, troubleshooting and testing phases.
  • Analyzing avionics and flight data products and draft reports for presentation
  • Generating quick look reports and flight test summary reports
  • Performing post flight data processing, flight video editing, and rendering
  • Performing detailed analysis of flight and RSIL test data

This position will be assigned to the Integration and Test team for a major AESA development program. The ideal candidate will be an engineer, mathematician or physicist with experience in computer systems, networks, data analysis and integration and test techniques.

Required Skills:
  • Must have experience (academic or professional) in avionics and or flight test
  • Ability or aptitude to troubleshoot flight test systems, computer systems, software, and networking connectivity issues
  • Experience with developing analysis tools and performing analysis
  • Experience with computers systems and languages (EX: MATLAB, Python, C++, Java, Linux)
  • Knowledgeable in systems engineering and IV&V engineering principles and work products
  • Able to work in a high paced, high demand laboratory shift environment
  • Candidate must be able to work flexible non-standard hours (ie – 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekends) on an infrequent basis in the event of a surge in unplanned laboratory work or flight test support
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities and analysis experience
  • Experience in system-level IV&V of hardware and software products
  • Knowledge of general purpose test equipment in the integration and test of various hardware and software products
  • 6 years of Engineering experience with a BS or 4 years experience with an MS Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline
  • 4 years of flight test and or avionics testing and integration
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM SECRET CLEARANCE PRIOR TO STARTING. Additional SAP/SAR clearances will be required and processed after start
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

  • Effective interface with senior-level leaders, external customers, end users & analysts
  • Able to effectively juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Experience with integration and testing
  • Ability to perform data analysis, troubleshooting and failure reporting
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues between test equipment, software and hardware
  • Knowledge of software, scripting and automation
  • Knowledge and experience in computer simulations, information technology, and communications technologies
  • Strong desire to learn, take initiative and contribute in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with flight testing, testing methods, and avionics testing

Required Education:
BS Degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or Physics

Desired Education:
MS in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or Physics with emphasis in computer systems. 135390
