Job Description

An opportunity currently exists for a Senior Principal Process Engineering position in the wafer fab of the Microelectronics Engineering and Technology department. The Microelectronics Engineering and Technology (MET) department designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications and is a part of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.

In this position, the chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the Raytheon semiconductor foundry in the area of yield improvement across a portfolio of gallium arsenide and gallium nitride processes. He or she will be expected to have an intimate understanding of process interactions with equipment, be able to extract and manipulate process data into communicable form, and will be expected to document and present findings to lead technical strategy discussions. The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver who works well in a team environment and is considered a subject matter expert in the field of semiconductor processing.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
  • Support the foundry by systematically problem-solving yield issues
  • Determine and implement best-practices in semiconductor processing and equipment qualifications.
  • Qualify new processes to help in yield improvement and improve throughput in the fab
  • Analyze outcome of design of experiments.
  • Document and effectively communicate all measurements and processing steps
Required Skills:
  • 10+ years related working experience in Semiconductors, ideally in the foundry
  • Subject Matter expertise in any one of the semiconductor processing areas or equipment
  • Experience in a semiconductor clean room environment

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of III-V semiconductors, preferably Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitride
  • Highly organized
  • Experience using Design of Experiments
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

Required Education:
  • BS degree in a STEM major or ideally a MS degree in a STEM major
