The Test Automation Department is responsible for Special Test Equipment (STE) Design, development and integration of the STE with the Prime Hardware for Space and Airborne Systems. As a Test Engineer Intern, the candidate will work as part of a team to develop /analyze Hardware / Software test routines and specification requirements.

The ideal candidate should be reliable, a self-starter, and able to work with minimum direction. Periodic travel requiring non-standard work schedules may be required.
The Test Automation Department welcomes Test Engineers with a strong work ethic, a willingness to get engaged with both software and hardware, and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Required Skills:
  • Software Programming experience (eg. NI LabWindows & TestStand, C, and/or C++ languages)
  • Knowledge of schematic capture software applications (ORCAD/MENTOR or similar app.).
  • Familiar with Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Test Equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, DMMs, etc.)
  • Ability to read/navigate schematics
For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05 or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2020) - must have an Undergraduate Degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a Graduate Degree program
Security Clearance:
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
  • Willingness to work both Software and Hardware development effort.
  • Passion for striving for success combined with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Self-starter able to solve problems independently but also work as part of a team, as required.
  • Disciplined problem-solving approach to all engineering tasks (testing, documentation, etc.).
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
Required Education (including Major):
  • Currently pursuing a BS / BA Degree from a 4-year Accredited University and entering as a College Junior, Senior OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2020.
  • Must be working towards a Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
