Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) is looking for a systems engineer with expertise in signal processing to include wave-form analysis, digital signals processing, and communications theory. The position requires strong systems engineering skills that include architecture of real time signal processing systems. The systems engineering (SE) subject matter expert (SME) will support a classified signal processing program and will engage multiple organizations within Raytheon, as well as external to Raytheon, to develop and implement signal processing techniques. The SME will be responsible for helping develop solutions that will satisfy Customer requirements and standardizing the processes for these solutions. Position sought through RayTech to allow flexibility of work hours.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Perform signal processing SE SME role on signal processing programs to ensure architectures satisfy all requirements
  • Guide efforts to develop new signal processing products/components that will support enhancing currently deployed signal processing systems
  • Provide technical support across IIS signal processing programs
  • Guide development and implementation of the design of advanced new products
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with Customers
  • Coach, teach, and mentor to encourage and accelerate talent growth
  • Acts independently and pro-actively seeks to uncover and resolve issues
  • Personally models and fosters a culture of ethical behavior

Security Requirements:

Must have an existing Top Secret SCI clearance with current SSBI within last 5 years.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in fields of signal processing, systems engineering, and architecture of real-time signal processing systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of single and multiple channel input signal processing techniques with understanding of and experience with multiple real time signal processing systems
  • In depth experience with signal detection, signal isolation (in co-channel interference environments), interference mitigation, waveform characterization and parameter estimation, multi-stream processing (e.g., complex ambiguity function and source separation), and geolocation observable extraction and location techniques
  • Familiarity with satellite design and orbital operational environments to include size, weight, and power constraints
  • Experience with detailed technical analysis and computer simulation / modeling of sophisticated signal processing algorithms using MATLAB or similar tools
  • Candidate must exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness, integrity, and teaming skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, and customers in a team environment

Degree Requirements:

Master’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

Desired Experience & Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with twenty-five (25) years of prior relevant signal processing and systems engineering experience
  • Ability to apply communication theory and digital signal processing expertise to pursue technology development and new business opportunities
  • In-depth signal processing system design experience
  • Experience in solutions meeting Special Access Programs / Special Access Required (SAP/SAR) system requirements
  • Work experience in the fields of computer technology, systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, reverse engineering

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
