Job Description


Raytheon is seeking an Engineering Fellow (EF) who is a dynamic and innovative communications technology expert, with proven and recognized leadership experience in multiple domains. The major role for this position is to develop advanced Airborne Processors capable products and systems.

This position is for someone with visionary thinking and leadership skills, to be a technical director within the Airborne Processors Product Line (ABP) within the Integrated Communications Systems (ICS) Mission Area. This person will lead the development of processor technologies, systems, and products. The EF will collaborate with ICS Engineering Fellows and Chief Engineers to provide system engineering discipline and guidance on existing and emerging products.


  • Originate, develop, and present technical briefings to internal leadership and internal and external customers
  • Provide technical direction to diversified teams and work closely with New Business Development in forming technology solutions for winning proposals
  • Lead creation of technical strategies and product roadmaps within the ABP Product Line
  • Develop external customer relationships and partner with internal Business Development and Front End of the Business to pursue CRAD and contract opportunities
  • Define new strategic directions, guide staff on technology advancements, and provide airborne processors expertise across ICS Mission Area and the greater SAS Business Area
Required Skills
  • Minimum 12 years of experience with military secure processors design and development.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of system- and subsystem-level analysis employing architecture, modeling & simulation tools and methodologies
  • Domain experience in hardware/software integration, communications systems information assurance, user experience, and new technology insertion
  • Experience in systems concept of operations, system architecture development, and system performance modeling and analysis
  • Experience leading teams of technical experts and engineers coupled with technical problem solving, System architecture development, and IA/AT implementation
  • U.S. Citizenship status is needed as this position requires an active US DoD Secret security clearance with investigation within five years as of day one of employment and will require the ability to access US only data systems
Desired Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the domain area
  • Experience interfacing, communicating, and presenting to all levels of the organization including senior level executives and customers
  • Fluent in trading key performance parameters for a variety of technology options and appreciate their impact on cost, schedule, programmatic, and capture risk.
  • Experience developing new and novel concepts leading to the capture and execution of technology maturation and development programs, transitions into real products and deployed systems
  • Working experience with Earned Value Management
  • Multiple technical publications, patents and/or invention disclosures
  • Involvement in industry consortia relevant to the job requirements
  • Presenter, panelist, or speaking experience at Government or industry conferences
  • Established or previous relationships with university research or military labs
  • Proven ability to lead or help teams to resolve technical problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing long term technical strategies
Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited educational institution (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
Desired Education
  • Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited educational institution (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
