Raytheon IIS/GIS provides Operations and Maintenance support for the Intelligence Community

Job Description:

Raytheon is seeking a highly qualified, motivated, and technically talented Senior Computer Systems Technologist to join our team of diverse and extremely qualified professionals who is pursuing the rewards of maintaining innovative and complex systems. This position is located in Aurora, CO offering opportunities for both individual activities and collaborative efforts in support of complex systems. Qualified candidates must be able to work independently in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

The System Maintainer team requires an individual with computer system administration experience on Linux platforms who can work in a structured configuration controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time system applications on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract. Qualified candidates will be responsible for evaluating platform level problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service.

Required Skills/Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate’s key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Configure, administer, maintain, and support computer systems in 24x7 operations and engineering support environments (primarily running RedHat Enterprise Linux and Windows clients and servers)
  • Support operations and engineering end users and accounts
  • Perform updates, patching and baseline changes to computer systems, adhering to strong configuration management standards
  • Troubleshoot problems with hardware, software, system configuration, COTS, network interfaces, network firewall filters, system resources, and/or user accounts to resolve issues
  • Monitor and review logs and system performance to ensure system health and proactively resolve issues
  • Configure, monitor, maintain, and administer system backup, recovery, and reconstitution solutions
  • Support projects including upgrades, installations, and replacement of software, hardware, and networking equipment following strong systems engineering processes, procedures, and policies
  • Support Information Security requirements, policies, standards, and configurations
  • Serve as technical resource within the SM department with some status reporting and exposure to management and customer
  • Support rotational 24x7 on-call support

Desired Skills:

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work in a structured configuration controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time systems on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M)contract
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate platform level problems and provide solutions for immediate restoration of service.
  • Experience with 24x7 operational systems
  • Experience with NFS, LDAP, NIS, Active Directory, SElinux, IPtables, CUPS, and Oracle
  • Experience with COTS products HP Operations Manager, Performance Manager, Network Node Manager, Data Protector, Legato Networker, integrated Lights Out, Citrix, Microsoft Office, Visio
  • Interface with external services for DNS, NTP, and others
  • Troubleshoot applications written in Perl, TCL, C++, Expect, and Shell scripts

Required Education (including Major):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field with 4 years of experience
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance (SSBI and Counter Intelligence polygraph)
  • DoD 8570 IAM/IAT certification requirements; Security+ or CISSP, or the ability to obtain within three months of start date
