Job Description

Raytheon Company Space and Airborne Systems business unit is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to work on Electronic Warfare (EW) and electronics product development for defense applications. Positions are located in Goleta, California & El Segundo, California

Raytheon Electronic Warfare Systems has challenging and rewarding design opportunities developing next generation Receivers, Technique Generators, Power Amplifiers, & Decoys, all requiring innovative analog and mixed-signal design using state of the art components and power supply topologies.

The candidate will be responsible for design of power conversion, analog, and mixed signal circuits for Electronic Warfare & Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) products & subsystems. The candidate will be performing electrical design, and electrical design analysis, implementing design solutions, performing simulations, and performing analysis and testing of associated hardware in a laboratory setting. He/she will generate electrical, power conversion, and mixed-signal module requirements documents and testing requirements. He/she will be a lead design engineer on leading edge power conversion products, and will be familiar with the technology trends in the area of power conversion and analog signal circuits. The candidate will work in the product development team environment with system engineers. This position may require occasional business related travel.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Power Conversion or Analog (or comparable hardware) design and testing, or 2 years with a related Master’s degree
  • 2 years' experience with power conversion design topologies, and experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for power and complex electronics
  • Hands-on experience in testing of electronic products using high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, waveform generators, and debugging tools
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with design tools (Spice, Schematic/Layout Design Software, Matlab, ADS or equivalent)
  • Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience designing airborne electronic products with attendant weight, power and size requirements
  • Experience with electrical design and analysis with Mentor Graphics
  • Experience with switched-mode power supply design and modeling, with proficiency in switched-mode design simulation and magnetic design.
Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
Desired Education:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
