Engineering Business Planner
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an Engineering Business Planner to join the Antenna Systems Department in Marlborough, MA. In this position, you will support a mechanical engineering department, responsible for assisting team members in the planning, procurement and receipt of IT hardware assets and manpower planning.

Raytheon Company’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED) leads in mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system equipment. The Mechanical Engineering Directorate uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon Six Sigma principles. MED’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test and documentation. The Antenna and Sensors Department designs some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world.

This position can be a Senior Administrator or Principal Administrator based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibilities required for the position.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.


Responsibilities of the Engineering Business Planner are highly varied and include the following tasks:

  • Maintaining the labor forecast, by engineering skillset, for Antenna Systems Department (approximately 200 people) utilizing ELF
  • Maintaining program shared data repository access lists
  • Maintaining seating assignments and coordinating needs with facilities
  • Compiling contract-specific information and providing data input support for engineering functional Estimate At Completion (EAC) reviews
  • Supporting new hire onboarding and submitting procurement requests for offices, phones, and IT equipment for new employees
  • Tracks and validates necessary approvals to obtain accurate purchase orders
  • May assist with IT Capital Coordination
  • Supporting business exception requests and approvals (e.g. business class travel, overtime)
  • Supporting non-routine pay changes (e.g. safety premiums for shipboard testing, etc.)
  • Supporting employee recognition and team meetings
  • Handling labor transfers, timekeeping issues, employee separations, and other administrative tasks
  • Supporting organizational training plans and tracking completion
  • Supports the monitoring and reporting of metrics to appropriate leadership

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills with documents and communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with geographically diverse teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Tools (such as Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to gather, collate and create presentation material based on a variety of data sources

Required Education:

  • BA/BS degree in finance, engineering, or a related field

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using labor forecasting tools
  • Experience with Excel PivotTables and macros
  • Experience using asset management solutions and tools
  • Experience utilizing financial tools and techniques
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to independently investigate and resolve problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize while maintaining flexibility
  • The successful candidate will enjoy being collaborative, demonstrating the ability to prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision, and meeting task deadlines.
