The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objectives include: Influencing systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer/end user; providing affordable, best in class, life cycle sustainment services after system deployment.

The THAAD IETM developer will be an integral member of the THAAD Radar team working with the customer. The developer will focus on the research and development of the Radar Special Tools and Repair Parts List and will develop technical manuals in support of the IETM effort. The developer will also research and develop graphics for the IETM.

  • Create and update Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL) Graphics using AutoTrol Technical Illustrator, Adobe Illustrator, and Arbortext IsoDraw using the MIL-STD-40051.
  • Create and update Technical Manuals using Arbortext Editor software, in accordance with the MIL-STD-40051.
  • Perform formatting, editing, proofreading, and quality control functions to produce technical publications in a deadline-driven environment for the THAAD RADAR support of Army customers.
  • Responsible for working closely with engineers to develop or edit graphics for technical publications, graphics for military logistics technical publications and interact closely with co-workers, subject matter experts, and customers to understand and meet product expectations.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and priorities within specified time frames.
Required Skills:

  • 4+ years’ experience in development RPSTL exploded drawings MIL-STD-40051 and/or S1000D standards.
  • 4+ years’ experience in the MIL-STD-40051 for Technical Manuals.
  • 4+ years’ experience working with Adobe Illustrator, AutoTrol Technical Illustrator, or other graphics software.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with engineering drawings, blueprints, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and design.

Required Education (including Major):

  • BS/BA in a major related to this job description or 4+ years of relevant experience to this Job Description may be considered in lieu of a degree. (Two years related work experience can substitute for one year of College.

    This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
