Job Description

Raytheon Professional Services is searching for a Cyber Security Instructor who will teach foundational level courses (Introductory Cyber Training, Intermediate Cyber Training and General Cyber Operator Training) and Operational level courses specifically (SOC Operator training). In addition to instruction, when classes are not in session, the instructor will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for performing maintenance on the course content or assisting with new content development as directed by the program office.

It is important to note that this position requires extensive international travel.

Typical cyber security instructor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Prepare class sessions and assignments to help students grasp course content and how it integrates with overall student learning outcomes for the course.
  • Teach courses according to the Cyber Academy catalog descriptions and in accordance with defined course standards and outcomes.
  • Create an immersive learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation.
  • Document students’ attendance, participation, and academic progress by giving and grading assignments, lab exercises, quizzes and/or examinations that lead to a final grade.
  • Submit course grades via the Learning Management System by the assigned date.
  • Is accessible to students outside the classroom, providing ample periods of time for counseling and mentoring students.
  • Stay informed about changes and innovation in the cyber security field.
  • Provide feedback on course content and assist in updating as required.

Required Skills
  • 4+ year’s cyber security experience covering foundational topics such as computer architecture, network architecture and network analysis, cyber vulnerabilities, information assurance standards, cyber risk mitigation, threat intelligence, incident response, incident investigation and open source analysis.
  • 2+ year’s cyber security experience covering security operations center operator topics such as defensive analysis, triage events, incident response, forensic collection, and SIEM monitoring
  • Network+ or equivalent certification
  • Security+ or equivalent certification
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and/or independently within a complex engineering team across geographically diverse locations
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications
  • Must possess excellent presentation skills
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer focus
  • Must possess critical-thinking skills

Desired Skills
  • One or more certifications in cyber security areas such as
  • CASP or equivalent certification
  • Security Monitoring & Detection
  • Incident Response & Forensics Analysis
  • Malware Analysis
  • Penetration Testing
  • Industrial Control System Security

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is a must
