Job Description

Raytheon is looking for an experienced Principal Audit & Compliance Engineer to join its team.

The Principal Audit & Compliance Engineer will be responsible for leading and performing internal Quality Management System (QMS) internal audits. The scope of these audits from the site level QMS to specific, focused Process Area audits. The candidate will need to effectively plan, communicate, execute, and close an audit. In addition, be able to identify, document, and manage corrective actions. As a key part of the audit process, you must be able to identify, communicate, and drive to realization opportunities for improvement. Requires an understanding of QMS and AS9100 requirements to determine when nonconformities exist or when observations are more appropriate to drive improvement. Individual needs to be able to lead a team and/or work independently to complete audits and assessments on time.

Work locations will span across SAS sites but focused in Marlborough, MA and Aberdeen, MD. Candidate may work in either location; however, must be willing to travel.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop audit schedules that include appropriate scope and personnel to support
  • Execute audits including opening and closing meetings
  • Manage Corrective Actions to closure
  • Work in a Team environment to drive and execute Continuous Improvement projects within the SAS Audits & Assessments Team

Required Skills:
  • A minimum of 8 years of QMS Audit or Quality Engineering experience
  • AS9100 Lead auditor certification,
  • Completion of Aerospace Auditor Transition Training (AATT)
  • ASQ Auditor CertificationExperience in the Corrective Action process including causal analysis
  • Ability to understand and work within complex functional organizations to ensure audits are effectively planned and executed
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • 20% Travel Requirement

Desired Skills:
  • Six Sigma Specialist, Principal Specialist, or Expert
  • Auditor / Assessor / Appraiser experience or knowledge in Malcom Baldrige, CMM, Shingo, Business Process Maturity Model (BPMM), or SAS AS-6500 Business, Organizational, Operations assessment tools / maturity models
  • Familiarity with database corrective action systems
  • DoD Secret Clearance

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Science, Technology or related field.
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
