Job Description

The Whole Life Engineering (WLE) consists of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems throughout their life cycle to assure effective operation, safety, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. We are currently seeking a Safety/Human Factors Engineer to join our dynamic and growing engineering team.

Candidate must be able to communicate and work with hardware and software engineering personnel, review technical documentation and specifications, and properly communicate safety and human factors concerns throughout the development process.

Required Skills:
  • 6+ years of engineering experience to include the following:
  • Experience executing a system safety program in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, including Software Safety Critical functions
  • Experience maintaining a hazard tracking system
  • Experience performing hardware and software system safety analyses
  • Effective technical communication skills
  • Experience working in a team environment during all phases of a program’s life: design, manufacturing, field/depot support, and subcontract management
  • Ability to obtain Secret security clearance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Human Engineering Design Criteria per MIL-STD-1472G
  • Proposal support experience and development of Technical Volume solution and write-up
  • Experience with engineering data processes that relate to design, manufacturing, and support
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance

Required Education:
BS Degree in STEM
