Job Description:
The Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business division of Raytheon is seeking an Intern for the Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) engineering center to provide robust Integration of Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems. The SEIT EW Electronic Attack (EA) Systems Department designs and develops electronic warfare systems for airborne, ship-based, and ground applications.

The SEIT EW EA Department is seeking 2020 summer intern candidates to work with and learn from senior engineers tackling challenging projects. Interns will be challenged by real-work assignments in keeping with their skills and experience; this could include any combination of technical research, concept demonstration, modeling and simulation, product design, technical documentation, unit or system test, or technical presentations.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05 or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2020) - must have an Undergraduate Degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program

Required Skills:

  • Must be a college senior by Fall 2020
  • Technical success with challenging science or engineering projects, including effective communication of project results in written reports and presentations
  • Skill in the use of computers for research, analysis of numeric data, documentation, and presentations.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as one year of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
  • Experience and skill with data collection and analysis tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python
  • Experience and skill with requirements analysis tools, such as IBM Rational Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
  • Other considerations relevant to working effectively in the Raytheon engineering environment include the ability to work independently without close supervision, to work well in teams, to communicate effectively both informally (e.g. conversation or email) and formally (e.g. reports or presentations), to work diligently, and to conduct oneself professionally and ethically.
  • Experience with integrating and fault isolating analog electronic, digital electronic, RF, and closed loop servo systems.
  • Experience with test document preparation and/or revision.

Required Education (including major):
Currently pursuing a BS degree from a four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior by Fall 2020. Must be working towards a Electrical Engineering Major, or equivalent technical discipline or related field or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
