IT Network Engineer

Network engineers ensure smooth the operation of our classified networks and propose innovative solutions to guarantee requirements are met. Program teams will rely on your guidance to develop and maintain network infrastructure, resolve issues and drive solutions to complex IT problems.

In this role, you will partner with customers across various programs to assure a high level of network capability and effectiveness. Effective network engineers collaborate and team well with others, working with Raytheon engineers to problem solve in tactical environments. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to share technical knowledge and mentor across the IT Program Execution team.

This position is located in Tewksbury/Andover/Woburn/, Ma with potential for international and/or domestic travel depending on business needs.

Required Skills

  • Upgrade and maintain network hardware and software (i.e. switches, routers, firewalls and encryption devices, VLAN configuration, port channels)
  • Ensure network hardware and software are compliant with information assurance
  • Maintain and regularly monitor network performance
  • Propose innovative and cost saving solutions to meet requirements
  • Collaborate with customers to derive solutions to complex network infrastructure problems
  • Respond to user requests via online service request tracking system
  • Contribute to overall performance and capability of technical team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Cisco and Brocade networking products and software/network troubleshooting tools including Wireshark, snoop and TCPDump etc.-
  • Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Network troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with network encryption devices
  • Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

Required Education (including Major):
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of applicable professional experience in a related field is accepted in lieu of a University Degree

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
