Job Description:
The newly hired Electrical Engineer in this position develops, designs, and tests digital components used in satellite communication systems, solving problems in areas such as satellite waveform processing, antenna pointing, high speed user interfaces, and data management and protection. Designs will be implemented using Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLDs) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).

The task may include laboratory integration, test and evaluation, and fault isolation of prototype hardware. The Engineer may also support system qualification testing, including tests involving communication with active satellites in earth orbit.

This position will be located in Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems business in Marlborough Massachusetts.

Required Education (including major):
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a BS Degree Program (or have completed a Degree no more than 18 months prior to start date) with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related Engineering or Science curriculum
  • Candidates must complete their Bachelor’s Program and be available to start no later than January 2020.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Desired Skills:
  • Customer focus and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with digital logic design.
  • Familiarity with VHDL or Verilog programming languages
  • Familiarity with Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLDs) or Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as Modelsim or Questa, or analytical tools such as MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.
  • Previous co-op experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with computers using the Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Linux scripting experience.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
