Raytheon State College seeks an Infrastructure Engineer with a diverse interest in both traditional system administration support and software engineering. An ideal candidate would be passionate in the automation of the full lifecycle administration (provisioning, installation, configuration, & management) of infrastructure as automated, repeatable baseline artifacts. As a traditional system administrator, a candidate should have background in some of the following areas:
· Ability to provision, install, configure, and administer Virtual Machines, Operating Systems, and FOSS/COTS technology stacks.
· Administration and troubleshooting of network interfaces including the understanding of ports, protocols, and common enterprise system interfaces
· Familiarity with cloud computing and virtualization technologies like VMware & AWS
· Recognize industry standard security practices to secure and harden enterprise systems

An ideal candidate for this position will also be familiar with modern software engineering practices as a means of providing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution:
· Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Groovy.
· Familiarity managing and developing using Configuration Management (CM) technologies such as Puppet (preferred) or Chef.
· Familiarity working with deployment / provisioning automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.
· Familiarity working with container solutions (e.g. Docker) and container orchestration solutions (e.g. Kubernetes) is preferred.
· Familiarity managing baseline code using a Version Control System like Git

Required Skills:

  • Strong skills with the Linux platform
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and virtualization technologies
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Groovy
  • Effectively communicate and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team to provide and maintain the core infrastructure components necessary to satisfy mission needs
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Infrastructure and/or Software Engineering
  • Clearance Requirement: Current TS/SCI clearance

    Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a Sign on Bonus up to $40K for a candidate with a current TS/SCI that can be verified and hired at Raytheon.

  • Experience with VMWare and AWS
  • Experience with Puppet
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Packer
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or other equivalent field
