Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President Mission Assurance, the Director of Mission Assurance Operations will be responsible for orchestrating the execution of key initiatives of the IDS Mission Assurance Strategy aligned with the company-wide Mission Assurance Value Proposition. This strategic leader will be responsible for driving procedure and processes optimization, business operations efficiencies, communications function-wide and various special projects.

In addition, this position will be responsible for strategic leadership of MA Proposals, Metrics, Tools, Quality Processes, Data Science initiatives and the IDS Records Management area. Also responsible for leading the IDS Corporate Quality Management (QMS) Audit Team that is responsible for the Raytheon Enterprise level Quality Management System Audit Function across all businesses.
The Director works closely with IDS Mission Assurance directors of Quality, Business Areas, Compliance and Raytheon Six Sigma. The role will also work closely with the Functional Partners of HR, IT, Finance and Raytheon Mission Assurance organizations in other businesses including Corporate, to effect closure of issues.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive employee expertise development across the product lifecycle in collaboration with the Mission Assurance Leadership Team and HR.
  • Assess, improve and deploy an improved Mission Assurance Proposal process; Assess and improve the Mission Assurance Gate and Independent Review processes.
  • Engage at the enterprise level on developing and implementing multiple policies, metrics, and best practices.
  • Achieve Mission Assurance Certification Level 3 Manager and Level 3 Mission Assurance.
  • Participation with industry associations.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain an United States Secret security clearance
  • 14+ years relevant experience
  • Experience participating in design and development activities
  • Direct experience managing teams
  • 5+ years participating in quality assurance, operations, or program leadership roles
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related field

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with DoD major programs throughout the product life cycle
  • Demonstrated broad based technical and business fundamentals
  • Multi-functional / Program experience
  • In-depth knowledge of mission assurance and related disciplines – systems, software, hardware, manufacturing
  • Experience facilitating cross organizational solutions in response to diverse objectives with ability to influence others to achieve business goals
  • Strong strategic vision and the ability to develop and execute change ideas
  • Ability to prioritize work load in a multi-tasking, resource constrained work environment
  • Provide strong business performance leadership by defining responsibilities, motivating employees, and demonstrating effective problem solving
  • Experience with building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders and peer groups
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation & negotiation skills
  • Experience with preparing and presenting senior management level briefings, and influencing, senior leadership on issues
  • Project management skills including cost, schedule, risk, and opportunity assessment
  • Experience working in a multi discipline environment
