Job Description:

As member of the IIS Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering Team, The Hardware and Infrastructure (HWI) Block Lead will oversee the heterogeneous mix of computing and storage hardware and deployment thereof and collaborate with other functions on software deployment on software platforms, including servers, workstations, and numerous COTS/Custom COTS, and customer software applications to the development and operational customer locations.

The HWI Block Lead will work with the team to manage, plan and schedule the deployment, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware products; software installations and upgrades to operating systems and COTS in order to achieve optimum levels of performance across multiple program development, integration, test, and deliverable environments. The HWI Block Lead will drive the use of Raytheon HWI Processes in design, development and execution rigor in a consistent manner across all HW platforms in order to deliver a quality product to the end customer. The HWI Block Lead, will work with the team to manage and resolve tech refresh obsolescence issues across environments including mix of computing hardware and software including COTS/Custom COTS and related software applications; and be a primary stakeholder in engineering review boards for Discrepancy Resolution. The HWI Block Lead will provide design documentation guidance, and support program engineering and management reviews as a key stakeholder to the system design modifications.

The HWI Block Lead will provide input and status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks for deployment activities; Support EBR/ECP, EAC, ROMB efforts as required; and provide briefs to Functional and Program Leadership on schedule and execution. The ideal candidate must have the ability to efficiently manage time and resources in order to meet assigned deadlines, program milestones by coordinating and working collaboratively with program IPT, Functional leadership, and customer via Technical Exchange Meetings (TEM).

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Hardware and Infrastructure systems design and deployment
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and deploying systems, software for a heterogeneous mix of computing and storage hardware and software platforms, including servers, workstations, and numerous COTS/Custom COTS and customer software applications
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex problems at different levels of detail
  • Ability to decompose large, complex problems into components and envision their interactions
  • Existing, or ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired Skills:
  • EVMS Certification/CAM Experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience working in a multidiscipline Engineering environment
  • Familiarity with the hardware and software development life cycles
  • Experience in Requirements development/derivation/management
  • Experience with systems integration verification and validation (IV&V)
  • Experience conducting trade studies
  • Experience with interface definition/documentation (ICD)
  • Experience working in the development or operational Space to Ground Interface environments and facilities
  • Experience with Infrastructure engineering tools or processes


Required Education (including Major):
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of related work experience.
