Job Description:
The candidate Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for understanding the design requirements, program requirement design and drafting standards for a variety of mechanical and electrical design applications. Primary responsibilities are checking mechanical design drawing for design and drafting requirements that meet both industry standards as well as internal Raytheon standards and program requirements. Checking activity includes conducting and participating in peer reviews, writing and maintaining Program Drafting Standards Documentation, writing and reviewing Engineering Change Notices and coordinating drafting change process flow with drafting and configuration management personnel. Familiarity with Copyrights, ITAR/EXIM, Industry Standard and related MIL Standards are required in order to provide robust design review activity and accountability to the Programs. Checking activity can vary from Piece Parts to Sub-Assembly’s (LRU’s) to final assembly drawings. Supported Programs include primarily DoD Programs for a variety of application and platforms from Airborne Products to Ground Mobile Product and Ship Board applications that support formal customer owned and released Technical Data Packages/Drawings to internal production support tooling drawings. Checker must be very god design and drafting skills as well as being detailed orientated and organized with good written and verbal communication skills

Required Skills:
Mechanical Design and Drafting with Mechanical CAD system (preferably ProE/Creo, or equivalent)
Thorough understanding of Mechanical Drafting Standards (ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5 min)
Complete computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email)
Effective communication and teaming skills
Minimum of 6 years professional experience in Design and Drafting

Desired Skills:
PTC Windchill

Required Education (including Major):
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
