Job Description

This position can be Planning Production Control Specialist II or Sr. Planning Production Specialist depending on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

The Plan Production Control Specialist will perform a variety of technical and business tasks in support of production programs. The individual’s responsibilities and tasks listed below are necessary in order to prevent a work stoppage or a slip in schedule, both of which would have a significant impact to the program’s cost and schedule requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Evaluating and coordinating material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production/customer requirements
  • Evaluating and providing status updates on assemblies that are in progress, material availability, and potential production problems
  • Control and analysis of multiple and complex bill of materials in an MRP system
  • Management of end item deliverables based on the master production schedule
  • Coordinating interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering
  • Propose solutions to mitigate any work stoppage the factory teams may experience due to any slips in material orders
  • Interfacing with internal and external customers
  • Leading projects and or teams to accomplish tasks
Required Skills:
  • 2 years’ experience with Production Planning in a Manufacturing Environment
  • An understanding of the application and concepts of Production and Planning Control fundamentals such as MRP; Inventory Management; Capacity Planning; Property Management; JIT Concepts; Master Production Scheduling and Delivery Administration
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Ability to effectively interface, collaborate, and communicate with all levels of an organization, as well as with a large external customer base, to accomplish tasks
Desired Skills:
  • 4 years of related experience with Production Planning in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Familiarity with SAP systems
  • Experience with Depot/Re-manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Advanced knowledge of MS Excel to include formula application and pivot tables
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or any major related to the job description
