Job Description:

Perform Electronic Component ECAD/PCB/EDA librarian tasks supporting programs in the proposal and production phases. Interfacing with National ECAD Library team, ECAD/PCB Layout Design Engineers, Product Development Engineers, Component Engineers, Program Management, Engineering and Project Leads, external electronic component manufacturers and other related disciplines. The majority of this position will be to create ECAD/PCB/EDA library elements including electronic schematic diagram symbols and PCB footprint cells using the Mentor Graphics Expedition/xDM tool suite utilizing vendor datasheets as well as industry and company standards.

Required Skills:

U.S. Citizenship required

  • Associate level experience or significant course work in CAD, digital electronics or electronic components
  • Experience interpreting manufacturer’s component datasheets particularly physical mechanical views and dimensioning
  • Knowledge of operating system concepts and implementations as well as collaboration and document collection networked services
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows including standard business application software (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Desired Skills:
  • Working knowledge of any CAD, ECAD, EDA or PCB software tools
  • Experience in electronic schematic diagrams and schematic symbols
  • Experience in ECAD/PCB layout design processes
  • Experience in PCB/CCA fabrication and board manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of ECAD library management, Library development and significance of minimizing design risks and hazards
  • Understanding SMT and THT land patterns differences and uses
  • Current Department of Defense Security Clearance
  • Experience or coursework with UNIX or LINUX OS commands and editor(s)
  • History of personal computer usage for entire daily tasks and a highly responsible work ethic
  • Awareness of the importance of company policies and ability to complete short, ongoing security and behavioral training courses as required for employment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to take directions from Functional Management, Component Engineers, Sr. ECAD
  • Ability to learn, reference and navigate multiple complex specifications, processes and tools.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift from one task to another as priorities dictate
  • Self-starter that is comfortable with and knows when to ask questions, ask for help or ask for clarification.
  • Ability to produce and evaluate high quality deliverables as well as receive feedback from peers for improvements to work quality on a regular basis
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills as well as strong customer interaction skills using a variety of communication methodologies including Email, telephone, instant messaging and video conferencing

Required Education:

Associate’s degree
Preferred major in Electronics, ECAD/CAD Drafting, Digital or Computer Electronics or Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar relevant field and minimum 2 years industry experience. May consider relevant years of experience in lieu of Associates degree.

This position requires the ability to obtain and hold a DoD secret security clearance.

This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of any clearances and/or accesses necessary for the position.
